“If you can’t make it big, make it red,” my Design 1 professor told us on day one.

Colors make people feel, and red is one I keep coming back to. There’s heat in it, confidence, a little danger. That advice stayed with me, and somewhere along the way Lady Red stepped into the picture, on a Pegasus, wearing her McQueen Armadillo heels.

Those shoes have fascinated me for years. I love looking at them as a fashion object: the curve, the height, the way they almost look alive. I still wonder how McQueen arrived at that shape, then managed to turn it into something a person could wear.

I wanted them to have a place in this print where they felt completely at home. Lady Red seemed like the woman to wear them. And if you’re going out in those heels, a Pegasus seems like sensible transportation.

All prints are presented on Hahnemühle German Etching Giclée paper. Frames are solid wood from sustainable sources, manufactured to high standards.
